If you have valid legal grounds for a case, you can hire a personal injury attorney on a contingency fee basis. This basically means that the attorney is taking the job on spec. They will cover the expenses associated with preparing your claim for negotiation or litigation, and you will only have to repay them and pay their attorney fees if and when they win compensation for you. If they do not win your case, you will not owe them a single dollar.
Contingency Fee Representation and Your Settlement
If you win your case and your attorney is working on a contingency fee basis, here’s what will happen:
