Viking issues recall for refrigerator freezers due to fire hazard

About 750 Viking 42-Inch and 48-Inch Built-In Side-by-Side Refrigerator Freezers with In-Door Dispensers were recalled after Viking received 27 reports of electrical shorts in the product, resulting in four fires. The recalled refrigerator freezers were made in the United States. See the recall.

Baja Motorsports recalls mini bikes due to falling and crash hazards

About 23,000 Baja Motorsports MB200 Gas-Powered Mini Bikes were recalled after the company received 13 reports of the front fork separating from the wheel of the bike, resulting in minor injuries. The recalled mini-bikes were made in China. See the recall.

The Bailey Boys issues recall for pajamas due to flammability standard violation

About 2,000 Boy’s Loungewear Pants were recalled by The Bailey Boys after discovery that the garments failed to meet federal flammability standards for children’s sleepwear. No incidents or injuries have been reported. The recalled pajamas were manufactured in El Salvador. See the recall.

Angelcare issues recall for baby monitors due to strangulation hazards

600,000 Angelcare Movement and Sound Baby Monitors were recalled after two infants died after the cords on the product fatally wrapped around their necks. A 13-month-old in San Diego and an 8-month-old in Salem, Oregon died after pulling the cord from the sensor pads into their cribs. Two other incidents of infants becoming entangled in the cords were also reported. The CPSC has issued a safety alert regarding baby monitor cords and can be found here. See the recall.

ElliptiGO issues recall for elliptical cycles due to falling hazard

About 7,200 ElliptiGO 3C, 8C, and 11R models were recalled after the company received eleven reports of the elliptical cycle breaking, either with the fork separating or the drive arm detaching. One injury, consisting of minor scrapes, was reported. The recalled outdoor exercise machines were made in Taiwan. See the recall.

Cuisinart recalls food processors due to laceration hazard

About 25,000 Cuisinart 7-Cup Food Processors were recalled after the company received a report of a consumer being struck by a piece of the plastic cover that cracked while the machine was in use, resulting in a minor injury. The recalled food processors were manufactured in China. See the recall.

Backcountry Access issues recall for airbags due to injury risk

About 8,200 Avalanche Airbags were recalled by Backcountry Access after discovery that the trigger assembly can fail, posing a risk that the airbag would not deploy in an avalanche. No incidents or injuries have been reported. The recalled airbags were made in China. See the recall.

Burley Design recalls bicycle racks due to falling hazard

About 4,167 Tailwind Bicycle Racks for Trailer Cycles were recalled by Burley Design after they received 11 reports of the tailwind racks breaking while in use, resulting in two injuries. About 200 Little Willy’s Hooded Sweatshirts were recalled by the company after discovery that the clothing does not meet CPSC guidelines about drawstrings in children’s upper outerwear. No incidents or injuries have been reported. The recalled sweatshirts were made in Peru. See the recall.

American Boy and Girl issues recall for infant sandals due to choking hazard

About 1,300 Falls Creek Baby branded Girl’s ‘Susan’ Sandals were recalled after the company discovered that the top strap of the sandal could be pulled loose, posing a choking risk. No incidents or injuries have been reported. The recalled sandals were manufactured in China. See the recall.

Crown Boiler recalls boilers due to carbon monoxide hazard

About 2,200 Crown Boiler CWD Series Gas-Fired Hot Water Boilers were recalled after the company discovered that the air pressure switch can fail to shut down the burners if there is something blocking the venting system, which can lead to excess carbon monoxide. No incidents or injuries have been reported. The recalled boiler systems were made in the United States. See the recall.

L&F International Trade recalls mattresses due to flammability standard violation

About 1,000 Renovated Mattresses and Mattresses with Foundations were recalled after it was discovered that the refurbished mattresses failed to meet federal guidelines for mattress flammability. K2 Sports issues recall for scooters due to falling hazard

About 400 K2 Revo Kickboards/Scooters were recalled after the company discovered that the front assembly can break and the handle can detach while in use, posing a fall risk. No incidents or injuries have been reported. The recalled scooters were made in China. See the recall.

SRAM issues recall for deraillerus due to falling hazard

About 1,700 Bicycle Chain Deraillerus were recalled by SRAM after they received 43 reports of the rear derailleur’s rear pivot pin loosening or dislodging, interfering with or jamming the wheel, posing a risk of falling. Manhattan Group recalls rattles due to choking hazard

About 12,400 Manhattan Toy Quixel Baby Rattles were recalled after Manhattan Group received four reports of the rattles breaking, posing a choking hazard for babies. The recalled rattles were made in China. See the recall.

David’s Place issues recall for jacket sets due to strangulation hazard

About 60 Girl’s Long Sleeve Hooded Jacket and Pant Sets were recalled by David’s Place after discovery that the product does not meet CPSC guidelines for drawstrings in children’s upper outerwear. Denver Global Products recalls yard vehicles due to laceration and fire hazards

About 11,000 Raven Multi-Purpose Yard Vehicles were recalled after Denver Global Products received 82 reports of blades detaching from the yard vehicles while in use, including at least one injury consisting of lacerations and bruises to the legs of a bystander. Three additional incidents of the mower blades starting without the operator activating them were also reported. In addition, there have been three reports of unintended vehicle movement and 34 reports of fuel leaking. The recalled yard vehicles were made in the United States. See the recall.

About 6,600 Girls BCG Hooded Windsuits were recalled after the company discovered the windsuits did not meet CPSC guidelines for drawstrings in children’s upper outerwear. No incidents or injuries have been reported. The recalled windsuits were made in China. See the recall.

Linear recalls transmitters due to battery signal failure

About 48,000 Personal Emergency Reporting Systems Transmitters were recalled after Linear received a report of a transmitter that failed to operate properly when used. The recalled product was made in China. See the recall.

About 7,230 2013 Exmark Commercial 30″ Walk-Behind Mowers were recalled after the company discovered that the mower’s blade could break and injure the user or bystanders. No incidents or injuries have been reported. The recalled mowers were manufactured in Mexico. See the recall.

About 36,100 2013 Toro TimeMaster 30″ and 2013 Toro TurfMaster 30″ Lawnmowers were recalled after Toro received ten reports of the lawnmower blades breaking while in use. The recalled Toro products were made in Mexico. See the recall.

efco recalls gas trimmers due to fire hazard

About 1,566 efco Brand Gas Trimmers from Emak USA were recalled after the company received eight reports of the muffler on the trimmer’s engine breaking while in use, posing a fire hazard. One incident resulted in some singed hair. The recalled gas trimmers were made in China. See the recall.

PackTite issues recall for bedbug heating units due to fire hazard

About 9,000 PackTite Heating Units for Bed Bug Control were recalled after the company received three reports of the heaters overheating. One incident included minor property damage. The recalled heaters were manufactured in the United States. See the recall.

Solowave issues recall for slides due to laceration hazard

About 20,700 Tornado Brand Home Playground Tube Slides with Port Holes were recalled after Solowave received 23 reports of minor injuries from children using the product. The injuries included cuts and scrapes after they came in contact with broken portholes on the product. The recalled slides were made in Canada. See the recall.

Ram’s Imports issues recall for jackets due to strangulation hazard

About 756 IQ Girls’ Hooded Pink Leopard Jackets were recalled after discovery that the jackets did not meet CPSC guidelines for drawstrings in children’s upper outerwear, posing a strangulation risk. No incidents or injuries have been reported. The recalled garments were made in Indonesia. See the recall.

IKEA recalls lamps due to strangulation hazard, resulting in a child’s death

About 23 million IKEA children’s wall-mounted lamps were recalled after a 16-month-old child died after becoming entangled in the lamp’s cord. A separate incident saw a 15-month-old child nearly strangled after becoming entangled in the cord. In both incidents, the cord was pulled into the crib by the children. The recalled products were made in the United States, Lithuania, and China. See the recall.

Shaw Industries recalls carpet due to fire hazard

About 16,300 yards of Aristocrat II Carpet was recalled by Shaw Industries after the carpet was discovered not to meet federal flammability guidelines. No incidents or injuries have been reported. The recalled carpet was made in the United States. See the recall

About 8,900 Coby 32-Inch Flat Screen Televisions were recalled by numerous retailers after the CPSC received six reports of the TVs overheating, smoking, or catching fire. At least one incident saw minor property damage. The recalled TVs were made in China. See the recall.

About 6,800 Trek Model Year 2013 Madone Bicycles were recalled after the company received five reports of loose front brake attachment bolts, posing a crash risk. The recalled bicycles were manufactured in Taiwan. See the recall.

About 1,500 Dootlebutt Jelly BeadZ Jumbo BeadZ and Magic Growing Fruity Fun products were recalled due to the inherent dangers of water-absorbing polymer toys if ingested by children.
