What NOT to Do After a Bicycle Accident in Modesto

Sometimes, the subsequent actions accident victims take after a collision put their safety in danger and jeopardize their right to file a claim. If you are involved in an accident in Modesto, you should avoid doing the following:

  • Not Seeking Medical Attention.

After an accident, remember that the most crucial thing you need to focus on is your health. Contact the nearest hospital in Modesto to seek medical attention immediately.

  • Admitting fault.

Even if you did not cause the vehicle accident, apologizing can hold you responsible for the crash.

  • Leaving the accident scene without informing authorities or any parties involved.

You could be held accountable for the car collision if you leave the site without exchanging contact information with the other party or calling the police. Call 911 or the Modesto Police Department to report the collision.

  • Not obtaining the information of the other party.

The other party’s contact details are essential, especially when you are filing for a personal injury claim. Having the necessary information, you may adequately address your claim to the negligent party and receive the compensation you deserve.

  • Not Gathering Other Evidence at the Scene.

Aside from the other party’s contact information, you must have sufficient evidence to demonstrate that the negligent party caused your accident. If you are physically injured, you may contact a personal injury lawyer in CA to collect the necessary proof for your personal injury claim.

  • Filing an accident claim independently.

While minor incidents may allow you to pursue a case without legal assistance, contacting an accident attorney to enforce your legal rights is essential. Most insurance companies provide lowball settlements that hardly compensate for your total loss.

Being involved in an accident may be overwhelming. If you think you made one of those points, you can seek legal assistance from a personal injury attorney who can determine the legal options suitable for your needs and situation.
