Vallejo, CA (March 5, 2024) – A hit-and-run in Vallejo killed a 37-year-old Vallejo man after an unknown vehicle hit him on Valle Vista. The police are currently looking for the hit-and-run driver. According to the Daily Republic, the incident happened just before 9:00 p.m. on Friday.

A hit-and-run in Vallejo resulted in the fatality of a 37-year-old Vallejo man. 

Initially, the Vallejo Police Department responded to reports of a man lying in the street in the 3200 block of Sonoma Boulevard.

Upon arriving, officers found an unresponsive 37-year-old man. It quickly became apparent that a vehicle hit him and subsequently fled the scene. Sadly, he died shortly thereafter.

Subsequently, the investigation indicated that the vehicle was traveling east on Valle Vista Avenue when it collided with the pedestrian. The man was presumably in or near the crosswalk.

At present, the officers are examining vehicle fragments left behind and checking video surveillance from the vicinity.

Meanwhile, due to privacy reasons, the Solano County Coroner’s Office has yet to release the victim’s name.

The Vallejo Police urges anyone with information about this hit-and-run in Vallejo to contact Corporal Lenard Alamon of the Traffic Division at (707) 648-4329, with the reference to case #24-2171.

Significantly, this incident is noted as Vallejo’s first fatal traffic event in 2024.
