Car Accident in Northern California: 19-Year-Old Man Fatal

A car accident in Northern California involving two cars killed a 19-year-old man on Highway 113 on Sunday.

Initially, the California Highway Patrol said a gray Volkswagen sedan headed north on Highway 113, just south of Leisure Road. Then, the Volkswagen attempted to overtake two vehicles by entering the oncoming traffic lane.

Simultaneously, a black Mercedes sedan, driven by 37-year-old Kristina Ramos, was heading south on Highway 113. To avoid a collision, Ramos steered right but ended up crashing head-on with the Volkswagen. The impact caused the Volkswagen to swerve left, leading to both cars colliding.

The section of Highway 113 where the accident occurred features a solid yellow line for the northbound lane and broken yellow lines for the southbound lanes. Moreover, a curve is also present at the accident site.

As a result, the young man behind the wheel of the Volkswagen sustained fatal injuries. Meanwhile, Ramos suffered broken legs and was taken to UC Davis for treatment.

Fortunately, no passengers were present in either vehicle. The CHP has ruled out drugs and alcohol as contributing factors in this car accident in Northern California.
