The 42nd Toyota Grand of Long Beach starts today, April 15, lasting throughout the weekend. The three-day event completely takes over downtown Long Beach, with excited race fans from all over Southern California in attendance. The event is known for speed, noise, and excitement, but also alcohol. The Law Offices of Larry H. Parker wants to remind everyone of the incredible dangers that exist from driving under the influence of alcohol.
Driving under the influence is never a good idea. Not only are DUI drivers putting their own safety at risk, they’re putting countless others’ safety at risk. If you plan on drinking, don’t plan on driving. Parking is horrendous under normal circumstances and even worse during Grand Prix, so finding alternate means of transportation is really good idea. If you’re from the area or the surrounding areas consider taking public transportation, Uber, Lyft, or a taxicab to attend. If you’re from further out, carpool and designate a sober driver.
Please, please drink responsibly this weekend. Spending thousands of dollars and spending up to six months in jail just isn’t worth it. Not to mention the physical harm drinking and driving can cause.
