Maclaren Stroller Recall
Maclaren, the high-end stroller manufacturer, has issued a recall for 1 million of its strollers. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of Maclaren Strollers due to risk of laceration or amputation of children's fingers. The recall affects all single and double umbrella style strollers purchased between 1999 and 2009. Models affected by the recall include the Volo, Triumph, Quest Sport, Quest Mod, Techno XT, TechnoXLR, Twin Triumph, Twin Techno, and Easy Traveler.
To date, 12 reports of fingertip amputations have been reported to the maker of the strollers, Maclaren. Children are injured when they place fingers in the stroller's hinge mechanism and the stroller is opened or unfolded. Consumers should immediately stop using the strollers and request a free repair kit from Maclaren.
