Los Angeles, CA (April 16, 2024) –  Jacob Fuerte (22), a recruit firefighter, died in a hit-and-run accident on 101 Freeway in Studio City after a vehicle hit him. According to ABC7, the authorities received reports around 5:14 a.m. on Monday.

Reportedly, the crash took place on the northbound lanes near Vineland Avenue. The Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) confirmed Jacob Fuerte’s identity.

In a video on platform X, LAFD Capt. Erik Scott said Jacob Fuerte was heading to his training. Moreover, he might have been in a traffic incident.

Scott said Jacob Fuerte exited his car, likely to check the scene and help. However, another vehicle hit him fatally.

Subsequently, paramedics rushed to the scene. Unfortunately, they declared Jacob Fuerte dead at the location.

LAFD Chief Kristin Crowley released a statement expressing sorrow over the tragic news. 

Further, she said Jacob Fuerte was starting a career that demanded courage and selflessness. Crowley sent condolences and prayers to his family.
