Oakland, CA (May 6, 2024) – Emanuel Gamino-Chavarria, 26, of Dublin, sustained fatal injuries in separate car accidents in Oakland. According to The Mercury News, the accident happened on Sunday night and Monday morning.

Emanuel Gamino-Chavarria, 26, of Dublin, and another man died in separate car accidents in Oakland. Moreover, authorities arrested one person related to one death.

The arrest occurred near 73rd Avenue and Orral Street in East Oakland around 10:50 p.m. Sunday. 

Reportedly, a scooter rider, heading south in the northbound lane of 73rd Avenue, decided to turn right toward Orral Street. Consequently, he crossed into the southbound lanes and a 2006 Mercedes Benz hit him. Sadly, the impact ejected him onto the road, and he died at the scene.

Meanwhile, an Oakland woman, driving the Mercedes, remained on site. Due to signs of intoxication, police detained her. They took her to the hospital for pain and have not charged her as of Monday afternoon.

On the other hand, another crash took place around 2:40 a.m. Monday on Grand Avenue, close to Lake Merritt. Here, a man in a Cadillac SRX SUV crashed into a tree while driving east. 

Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. Authorities identified him as Emanuel Gamino-Chavarria.

Currently, investigators are probing the cause of this crash, including the potential role of drugs or alcohol.
